IWA Digital Water Summit

Bilbao, Spain | 12-14 November 2024

Join the transformation journey

The IWA Digital Water Summit is designed to be the reference in digitalisation for the global water sector. Targeting all stakeholders involved in the water sector digitalisation, the Summit has a focus on business and industry. Water technology providers and water utilities are the main participants that will discuss and shape the agenda of this third edition.

Digital water is a concept that we are starting to learn how to integrate it into businesses and the global water sector. The purpose of the Digital Water Summit is to answer some of the questions that businesses may have, such as:

  • What is digital water?
  • What is the difference between digital water and digitalisation?
  • How can we make our industry more digitally aware?

The Digital Water Summit will have some of the world’s leading experts on digital water. It is co-organised by IWA with the water utility in the region (Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia) and the IWA Governing Member in Spain (AEAS).

Water and wastewater utilities must embrace digital solutions

“Digital water is already here” is the clear message after interviewing utility executives and leading experts from around the globe. From big data solutions to advanced management of the distribution network to digital customer engagement programs, nearly all utilities we talked to have begun the digital transformation journey. While the transformation is not always easy, with ageing infrastructure, inadequate investment, changing climate and demographics, digital water is now seen not as an ‘option’ but as an ‘imperative.“

Critical discussions into the future of sustainable water management

The Digital Water Summit gathers world-renowned experts on digitalisation of the water sector, who will be involved in plenary sessions, interactive demonstrations of digital solutions, interactive discussions, side events, exhibitions, technical visits, and social events. Utilities and solution providers will be sharing experiences and solutions in a practical setting, maximising access to relevant information and networking opportunities.
